Vacation
Christmas at Mt Baldy is one of our family highlights. My son, William, and I snowshoed to the top of the ski hill, which had been shut down during an ownership change. I love the views up there. It`s a tough hike, but it was worth it.
There are few things more relaxing, yet still quite exciting than canoeing on a river. My friend Michel invited me to canoe with him and the Bow Waters Canoe Club on the Bow River from Banff to Canmore. The day was warm, beautiful, and promised a great time. The water was fast and fun. Due […]
I hadn’t been to Radium in a while. The last time was during the Golden Triangle cycling trip with the Elbow Valley Cycle Club back in the spring of 2000. This year, we spent a week with our friends Kevin and Marion mostly just relaxing. Kevin and I went on a couple of hikes […]
Christmas is a great time for photos. Our family spent Christmas in a cabin on Mt. Baldy, near Oliver, B.C.. It gave me a lot of opportunity to get out into the snow and take a few photos. I particularly wanted to play with HDR, and I was delighted to find a few subjects that […]
John and I attended the temple at 6 am. We returned back to the motel room at 8:15 and went with the kids to have breakfast. The motel had a self-serve kitchen. We ate cereal, toast, and waffles. After we packed up the van, we drove over to the temple to walk around and take […]
We woke up early, had showers, ate oatmeal for breakfast and broke camp at 9am. We left Salt Lake city and drove to Layton, Utah. We stopped and shopped at Target Superstore. The kids got clothes, we bought groceris for lunch, etc. We made sandwiches (deli-meat, lettuce, red onion, tomato, cheese), sugar peas, bananas, and […]
We woke up early to have breakfast and catch the 9am shuttle bus to Temple Square. John made us pancakes for breakfast. Temple Square was amazing. It is 35 acres. We had Sister missionaries give us a short tour. They took us to the Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, and the South Visitors Centre. In the […]
We woke up in the morning, and John, Victoria, William, and Douglas went swimming in the indoor pools. Yesterday the temperature was cool; it fluctuated between 18 C and 29 C. When we camped at Bluewater Lake State Park outside Mesita, New Mexico, it was cool also. We had to wear a light jacket while […]
This morning the campground looked nicer than I thought. The lake seemed nice. There were people that arrived early so they could go boating. John is taking pictures at a lookout after we climbed out of the valley from the campground. Gasoline at the Indian Village at the continental divide. – Victoria 12:26pm Left Gallup. […]
We got up earlier to shower and get ready for church. Packed up the tent and sleeping bags. The family tenting next to us had two small children (about the ages of 1 and 3). They were dressed in church clothes this morning, too. They arrived at church just after us. We learned that this […]
