Christmas at Mt Baldy is one of our family highlights. My son, William, and I snowshoed to the top of the ski hill, which had been shut down during an ownership change. I love the views up there. It`s a tough hike, but it was worth it.
Christmas parties are always fun. I spent the evening with Sleep Country Canada. And I stayed awake the whole time! We began the evening with portraits, then progressed to an awards ceremony after dinner, and finished off with music, dancing, and merry-making.
There are few things more relaxing, yet still quite exciting than canoeing on a river. My friend Michel invited me to canoe with him and the Bow Waters Canoe Club on the Bow River from Banff to Canmore. The day was warm, beautiful, and promised a great time. The water was fast and fun. Due […]
I hadn’t been to Radium in a while. The last time was during the Golden Triangle cycling trip with the Elbow Valley Cycle Club back in the spring of 2000. This year, we spent a week with our friends Kevin and Marion mostly just relaxing. Kevin and I went on a couple of hikes […]
Devry held their 2011 convocation ceremony Saturday in Calgary. I was excited to be the official photographer again this year. The occasion also marked their 30th Anniversary. City of Calgary Ward 10 Alderman and Devry graduate, Andre Chabot, was invited to be the feature speaker. The portrait […]
A sunny lunch hour stroll with friends around Prince’s Island Park made for fun photographic adventures. One of our goals was to get some softer, long-exposure shots of the river. The bright sun made it difficult to slow down the shutter, even with a polarising filter. I managed some nice shots of the fountain as […]
To celebrate 100 years of LDS scouting in Alberta, Helaman’s Encampment brought together 3000 youth and leaders at Camp Impeesa. The mission was to promote Book of Mormon use, high adventure, increased brotherhood, and have spiritual experiences. For the week of July 4th to the 9th, each day was packed full of activities for both […]
I had a great day for shooting Hoar frost. A friend and I took advantage of a sunny noon hour to take some photos in the parking lot. The bright sun caused the South facing frost on the sides of the trees and bushes to melt, while the still frigid air maintained the North facing […]
Christmas is a great time for photos. Our family spent Christmas in a cabin on Mt. Baldy, near Oliver, B.C.. It gave me a lot of opportunity to get out into the snow and take a few photos. I particularly wanted to play with HDR, and I was delighted to find a few subjects that […]
John and I attended the temple at 6 am. We returned back to the motel room at 8:15 and went with the kids to have breakfast. The motel had a self-serve kitchen. We ate cereal, toast, and waffles. After we packed up the van, we drove over to the temple to walk around and take […]
